Medusa cosplay version 2.0

This is basically version 2 of my Medusa cosplay. I kinda have a version 1.1 and a 1.2 before this, but there were so little changes that I don't really see the need to post them (unless I posted pics in scraps or something). I bought and modified pants for version 1.1 (which I wore at Ohayocon 2011) and remade the shoes to be more sturdy, and my wig finally came for version 1.2 (which I wore at MTAC 2011). I had also painted the snakes's (Ana) head green; however, it was too light of a shade of green and looked very bright in pics.

This is from OMGcon 2011. And yes, I am sitting on my "tail." Pulling this off was just as hard making the illusion of the floating scales -- I had to give the illusion I was sitting on a very thin object, but still have it strong enough to support my weight. This was the only part of my costume that I had outside help on...and that's only because I don't have access to welding equipment. One of my coworker's husbands welded the metal on the braces for me (which I could have done if I had my own welding shop...that would be nice). I made all of the outside structure and design though. This "illusion" is also the one that shocks the most people.
I also painted Ana's head again to finally get the right shade of green. At this point, I had spent around a total of 3 weeks on the costume.

I entered this version into OMGcon's cosplay contest and won Best Prop.
