Seeing as how I'm crazy about Anime, and I want to find more complex patterns to carve, I thought it would be fun to carve InuYasha into a pumpkin -- that was before I tried it, lol. I tried carving this pattern onto a regular pumpkin before I put it on the fake foam pumpkin like I did for my lion. While the real pumpkin was easier to carve, it was hard to put a lot of detail into it. It took over 5 hours to carve InuYasha into the foam pumpkin, but it was worth it, and I like how it turned out -- especially the eyes. I wasn't able to carve the eyes right on the real pumpkin. I really like how the pictures turned out too -- especially the one on the left. The flash from my camera made the perfect shadow pattern on the back inside wall of the pumpkin to look like shades in InuYasha's hair. I carved this pumpkin last year. While this is my first Anime pumpkin, it certainly won't be my last. Right now, picking my next pattern, which of course will be another Anime character, is going to be harder than actually carving it -- until I start that is, lol.
